Pentecost: Come Holy Spirit
Let’s feel the tension in Peter’s breath, the doubt in Thomas’s eyes, the weight of past failures. Uncertainty about the future is like a thick fog. They are staying there in the “Upper Room”, waiting in prayer. Often, the Holy Spirit finds us not in places of triumph, but behind “locked doors” of fear. Fear is not an obstacle for God; it is the starting point for His strength.
They are not alone: the women are there, and Mary is there. Look at Mary. Her peace is contagious. If she is not afraid, why should we be? Hope is not optimism; it is the certainty that God keeps His promises.
What is the “Upper Room” of my heart today? Am I ready to close the door to external chaos? The “Upper Room” represents detachment from the noise of the world. To hear the Spirit, we must step above our daily anxieties.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
