01 Oct Teams of Our Lady Information Evening
Last Saturday, 27th September, we held an Information Evening for Teams of Our Lady.
We were warmly welcomed by the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at their House in St. Raphaela’s, Kilmacud. Once again, the sisters proved themselves to be gracious hosts and true friends of our movement.
We were particularly blessed to be received by Sr. Margaret, an Irish sister newly returned home after many years in the USA… where she served as a Teams chaplain! The Holy Spirit was clearly at work! Sr. Margaret attended our meeting and contributed with a powerful testimony, reminding us that marriage is, above all, a sacrament—celebrated by wife, husband, and God—a joyful gift to be cherished, nourished, and unfolded over a lifetime.
Four new couples attended the evening, which was organized by members of the regional teams with the support of John and Elaine Cogavin, who generously shared their time and experience. Following a brief presentation on Teams, we divided the new couples into two groups to take part in a simulated Team meeting. This gave them a real sense of what a meeting looks and feels like.
We were also blessed by the presence of Sr. Mariana, Teams chaplain in Dublin, who attended one of the two meetings. The simulated meetings went very well, with the new couples open to listen and embrace the spirit of sharing that lies at the heart of a Teams gathering, and the atmosphere throughout was both joyful and reflective.

As we chatted, we were joined by a Syrian family living in St. Raphaela’s—Chantal, Philippe and their young daughter Marielle—who had come to Ireland to study. To our great surprise, we discovered that Philippe and Chantal are also members of Teams of Our Lady in Dubai, where they currently live. Truly, Teams knows no borders, and the Holy Spirit filled our evening with unexpected blessings.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Paolo and Paola, the Dublin Sector couple, and to John and Elaine for their invaluable support in preparing and running the evening. A warm word of gratitude also goes to the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who continue to be a great support to our movement.
We were deeply encouraged by how quickly the new couples bonded with one another and by the depth and sincerity of their sharing. Meeting other couples who share a love for Jesus and a desire to nurture their marriages is always an enriching experience—and a powerful evidence of the beauty of the charisma of Teams.
Indeed, Teams in Ireland is alive and flourishing. The Holy Spirit was truly at work, with some of the couples already expressing a desire to begin their journey with Teams.
